In July, Donnell was cast to play Joshua Jackson's bro in original drama. In November 2014, Donnell signed up with the cast of Broadway Sings P! NK, which would occur on January 19 and 25, 2015. That exact same month, he signed up with the cast of Town hall Encores' production of the musical, alongside Tommy Tune, Erin Mackey and Patti Murin.
In March 2015, Donnell joined NBC drama pilot Love Is A 4 Letter Word playing Sean, an advertising agency partner. The show was handed down.
